About School

Started in 1993, as a small charity attempt, adopting 63 abandoned handicapped children. Next few years were of struggle. To win the notice of others who could share a caring thought. To provide room for more children.

To increase facilities to ensure their well-being. Now, being run in its own premises, the school has got two separate hostels for girls and boys, ventilated classrooms, kitchen, dining hall, prayer hall, and a sizable playground, to comfortably accommodate 110 students (suffering from various forms of disability) and their needs.

26 people are working with the institution: 14 as faculty and 12 as non-teaching staff.
Special classrooms and equipments are provided for the hearing-impaired ones. Apart from formal education, students are given vocational training in computer operation, telephone board operation, envelope making, book-binding, tailoring etc. to make them courageous enough to face the future.

Talents

Encouraging the extra curricular activities of the students was followed as an important policy, from the very beginning. And, it brought in great results. Like Muthukumar’s entering the Guennus Book of world records by dancing continuously for hours and Saravanan’s victory in 1500 metre race in a meet conducted for handicapped children, at the state level.

Now, several students show genuine aptitude in activities like singing, dance, sports etc. and it certainly helps to develop their characters too.
